Lent Course 2010

 

We have decided to use the 2010 Lent Course after the success of the previous York Course. There is a booklet to accompany the course available now for £3.00

 

The Ministry Team will each lead a session, which will take place on Wednesdays, beginning 24th February for five weeks. We will hold this years sessions in the Church Centre, at 8.00pm for one hour.

Lent Lunches begin on Thursday 18th February

The lunches will be held every Thursday, for six weeks, in the CHURCH centre, from 12 noon to 1.30pm.

 

The cost this year will be £4.00 for soup, bread, cheese and a choice of desserts with tea or coffee.

 

A brief ‘Thought for the Week’ will be given at 12.45pm

 

The ladies who are organising our Lent Lunches decided that the monies raised should be donated to the disaster Emergency Committee's Haiti Earthquake Appeal

 

 

Lent Sacrifice

The PCC  has discussed the choice of a recipient for our Lenten Sacrifice money this year. Traditionally, we are encouraged to either fast or give up something during Lent, and the money saved is donated to a worthy cause. It was decided that we should support the work of the Leprosy Mission, a very worthy cause which we have not supported recently. Collecting boxes are being ordered and will be available at the beginning of Lent.
